FAQ
Please read carefully the questions below, as the may contain information that could help you when requesting something from me.
Q: Could you draw something in another style?
A: As long as you give me references, I can try.
Q: Could you draw me something with mature content in it?
A: If you can prove me that you're at least 18 years old, I could negotiate drawing a mature themed picture. I have the right to refuse to draw anything that makes me uncomfortable, thou.
Q: Why won't you draw _________ ?
A: The things I say I won't draw are usually things that are things that give me a really hard time or that I don't feel comfortable drawing.
Q: Could you draw myself or somebody else in your style?
A: Just send me at least one or two pictures of the person you want me to draw and I'll do it. The picture needs to be clear! Not too dark or too bright.
Q: What kind of references do you accept? How can I send them to you?
A: Photos, drawings, scanned images from magazines and books, quick sketches (as long as I understand what's going on), images from google, even images done by other artists. Anything that you might find that it would help me understand what you want me to draw. You can either write me the URLs (link to the image) or attach the images to the e-mail. If you choose to send me the links, link me to the specific image ONLY. I won't accept links to websites or big galleries where I have to look for the actual images. If you choose to attach the images to the e-mail, please don't make them too heavy, and not bigger than 1000x1000 pixels.
Q: Can I get my final pic at 300 dpi instead of 150? or in other file format?
A: Sure! Just let me know beforehand to work at a higher resolution from the start. If you need any other format (TIFF, PNG, closed PSD) just let me know and I'll save it for you from my original PSD working image.
Q: Can I ask for a pic on different dimentions than 8 x 11"?
A: Let me know beforehand! I can draw up to 11x17" at 300 dpi.
Q: Can I get the open PSD file?
A: No, sorry.
Q: Do I get a discount for only a 72 dpi version?
A: Sure, but you won't be able to ask for a higher resolution version later. It'll also have less quality and details than a normal commissions, due the size I'll be working on.
Q: Can I use the image on things that I sell?
A: You will have to pay up to double the price for commercial use, unless we sign a contract and you give me a % of everything you sell (royalties).
Q: Can I use the image on my website? Or make free things with it?
A: Sure, as long as it's freely distributed, you can use it to print it for yourself, to give it as a gift to somebody else or to use it online wherever you want.
Q: I asked for a picture with background. Can I get a version without the background too?
A: Sure! I make the background and the characters separately, so it's not a problem.
Q: Could you make a print of the picture for me?
A: For an extra $2 each copy, I'll print it in glossy or matte paper in Letter size (8 x 11") for you. I can't make stickers thou. Mailing fee is $2
Q: The print/traditional media picture I ordered is taking a lot to arrive.
A: I'm sorry, but the post office is stupid sometimes. The things I've mailed have always arrived thou. They take a while, sometimes even more than a month, so please be patient.
Q: I have a low budget...
A: Check the available Special Offers in the front page, or just contact me with what you want and we could discuss a small payments program or a commission that adjsts to your budget..
Q: Can I pay upfront?
A: Let me accept your request first and be sure we've discussed everything. Sometimes I'm unable to work on certain commissions at all, and I'd rather cancel them before any payment is made instead of refunding.
Q: I asked for a commission from you, you said to wait for the sketch, but I haven't heard of you for a while...
A: Chances are I'm either too busy or I'm taking a break. If I accepted your commission, I'll get back to you with a sketch eventually, unless I'm unable to work on it for any reason (I'll let you know if that happens). That's why I won't ask for payment before the sketch has been drawn and approved (and I know I'll have enough time to work on the commission)
Q: Do I send the payment to mbgarcial@ishtera.net?
A: No! You have to send it to spinelsun@gmail.com!! The other account is only for recieving mails.
Q: After I payed, when will I get my picture?
A: If there's nobody else on my list, you'll probably get your picture in a couple of days, otherwise you might get your picture in about one or two weeks. It might take a month or more if I'm REALLY busy with college and life. If the wait makes you feel uneasy, please feel free to contact me and I'll let you know what's going on.
